If an SSP is connected, a bid request will be made along with the ad request. A bid request is simply a request from the SSP to the different DSPs to show an ad. The bid request is a piece of script that contains information about the website making the request. Besides the website, the URL and the format of the video, the bid request contains a bid floor, the minimum CPM an advertiser has to bid in order to be eligible to win the auction. Also, the bid request contains a unique code that the SSP uses to identify the site when it contacts the DSPs. This code, the Deal ID, allows each party to know what is being bid on.
