An in-stream ad that appears as the video content plays. Non-linear ads typically cover the bottom or top fifth of the video player and can be text, image or interactive ads. Using an API or other technology, the video player can allow user-initiated interaction in a non-linear ad to pause the video content. Non-linear ads can only appear between the start and end of the content video (mid-roll positions) and typically disappear after 10-20 seconds if there is no interaction.
